This past weekend into early this week was fall break here at ONU. We also had a bye week for football. This gave me the opportunity to go home for the weekend. When I was home I got to spend some valuable time with my friends and family that I haven't seen in over 2 months. It is always good to get the chance to go home and see all the people you missed the most. It was a really relaxing weekend for me. My family and I went out to eat on Friday night and caught some of my old high school football team's game. I also got to hang out with some of my friends and watch a movie with them. On Saturday, all of my friends and I went golfing during the day. I might not be very good at golf, but it was fun to be able to golf and hang out with all of my friends again. After golf, we all went back to my friend's house and watched some football and had a campfire. My favorite nights are when I can just sit around the fire with some of my closest friends and have fun together. Sunday consisted of my Mom, Dad, and I watching NFL football all day. I am now back at ONU and ready to attack the 2nd half of the semester and football season. I am going to have plenty of challenges on the way, but I am looking forward to tackling these challenges head-on.
If you are following the football team and our season, you know that this is the season's last week and last game. I am not going to lie, it has been a very long season for us. We are currently 2-7 which is very unfamiliar territory for many players on our team. In high school, I never had a season with more than 3 losses, so this has been relatively different for me. Even though our record doesn't show it, this has been the closest team that I have been a part of since coming to campus three years ago. In the future, that is what we are all going to remember. We are going to remember the relationships that we formed and that are going to last for the rest of our lives. Some of the seniors that are graduating have been some of my best friends for the last three years. I actually live with two seniors that are graduating now. As this week has gone on and we continue to do events for senior week, it has gotten to be very emotional. I still don't think it has hit me that so
Noah, I wrote about nearly the same thing. I am glad we both cherish going home and spending time with friends and family we may not to get see a lot. That is also nice you guys had a bye week for football at the same time of fall break. Keep pushing and finish out strong!
ReplyDeleteNoah, I'm glad you could finally go home and see your family. I know we've talked about how much you missed your friends and family, so I am glad you were given that time to see everyone. Good luck the rest of the semester!
