RIP Coach

Last week, I received a phone call that no one ever wants to receive. On my way to class, my dad called me and told me that my lifelong neighbor and hall of fame high school baseball coach, Coach Harlamert,  passed away suddenly last Wednesday morning. This news was very hard for me as my family and his family were very close growing up. He had heart surgery a couple months back, but the doctors said that he was doing great and on his way to recovery. No one was expecting his passing to say the least. The rest of the week was pretty hard for me as I was trying to grasp what happened. I can only imagine being in the family and having your loved one pass away suddenly. I just couldn't imagine.  The amount of people Coach H touched during his time on earth is breathtaking. This past Sunday I attended his viewing and the number of people that showed up to pay their condolences was quite extraordinary. The viewing hours were from one o'clock to seven o'clock. My family went at

Social Media Campaign

For my Social Media Strategies and Campaigns class, we are tasked with pairing with a client from the local area to help with their social media engagement and awareness. My group was paired with Findlay Auto Plus. This is an auto body repair shop out of Findlay, Ohio of course. A couple of weeks ago a bunch of clients from the surrounding areas came in to pitch their ideas, what their plans were, and what they needed help with. Findlay Auto Plus caught my eye because I really got along with the man who came in to do the presentation. He was a very relatable guy and I thought it would be cool to work with him. Two other classmates and I were then paired with him to help with his business. This really excited me because I have very limited experience working with real clients in the real world. His business does not have any social media platforms so it will be a good experience for my group members and me to dip our toes into the water of social media branding.  We recently met with h

NFL is Back

This weekend was the opening of the 17-week NFL season and my favorite time of the year. ONU, Ohio State, and the Browns are all in full swing and I love everything about it. I spent every minute on Sunday watching the NFL games, specifically the Browns. Browns have been my favorite team growing up and they always will be. But this opening game match-up was very interesting. This past offseason we traded our former "franchise" QB Baker Mayfield to the Carolina Panthers for basically nothing. The interesting part about it is that the Browns opened with the Panthers this season and we had to play Baker right off the bat. I was pretty nervous about this game because I did not want us to lose to Baker. The game started off goof for the Browns as we got off to a good lead heading into halftime. This didn't last long. The Panthers came out firing in the 2nd half and actually took the lead with a minute and a half left in the game. In comes Jacoby Brissett our starting QB while

Cedar Point Sports Center Tour

Today I had the privilege of touring the Cedar Point Sports Center in Sandusky, Ohio. When we first got there, we were met with one of their employees who kind of explained the entirety of the building and what we would all be seeing during the day. We started off on the basketball and volleyball courts. In the facility, there is room for 20 volleyball courts and 10 basketball courts. He also mentioned that the court surface itself is NBA grade which means that pros play on the exact same surface that the players play there. He explained some events that they could hold inside the building. He explains how anything from jujitsu to gymnastics competitions has been in that building. There are also local youth programs being held during the week in the facility with travel tournaments being held on the weekends with teams traveling from areas all over. The next thing we saw was "The championship court." This was the coolest part of the tour in my opinion because of the set up o
