Chapter 14

 Although we don't have enough time to cover chapter 14 in our class I thought it was a very unique chapter that I wanted to do my final blog on of the year. This whole chapter is about influencer marketing in the realm of social media. Many people know what an influencer is. The main definition of an influencer is someone who carries influence within a certain business or brand they use their platform to get their message across to help the business. When I think of the word influencer I think of the platform of TikTok. There are so many content creators on TikTok that are considered influencers. Many of these influencers post videos about products that they use to help that specific business. These influencers are then paid for their services. The actual concept of influencer marketing is using these influencers to promote a brand message and help build your brand. Athletes were the main first form of influencers. There are many factors that make up a good influencer. Some of these are reach, credibility, authenticity, activity, and engagement. Based on how many followers you have resulted in how efficient of influencer you are. Influencers also help themselves as other business while they promote their product. These influencers also get exposure, awareness, and credibility. In conclusion, influencer marketing doesn't just help the business, it also helps the influencer themselves.

Friendsgiving

I had one of the best meals that I have had in a while last night. About twenty of my friends got together and had one big meal before we all went our separate ways for Thanksgiving break. The meal was especially good because it was prepared by one of my friend's mom. In the past, she has come up to campus to make us a home-cooked meal throughout the week and it is always so delicious, so I had very high expectations for this meal. It definitely did not disappoint.  This meal was a full Thanksgiving feast. Any food that you could have wanted on your Thanksgiving table was there. For the last couple of meals, I have been eating at the Wow Café here on campus and I was completely tired of it. So when my friend told me his mom was coming up, I was so excited. PRSSA Meeting

 For one of my school assignments, we had to attend an event this week around campus with homecoming. Due to my busy schedule this weekend I chose to attend the PRSSA meeting Thursday night. There were some other events to pick from but with my schedule being very busy this was the only event that I could get to go to. In addition to just attending, we also had to live-tweet this event giving updates with key takeaways from the event. This isn't the most orthodox assignment for a class that I get to do, but it was actually pretty interesting. This PRSSA meeting was all about ethics. September is Ethics Month in this organization so it was only fitting that our meeting would be over ethics and how it ties into public relations. For this event, they brought in a couple of guest speakers. These guest speakers were Ronele Dotson and Jo Ann LeSage Nelson.
